Italy dairy trade (€): +4% export, -12% import (Jan-Feb 2016)

Italy exports in February 2016 compared to February 2015 increased in volumes for

  • Cheese (+12.9%)
  • Milk and cream (+10.9%)

decreased for

  • Whey Powder (-9.3%)

Export of main cheese in February 2016 compared to February 2015 increased in volumes for Fresh cheeses incl. mozzarella, cheese and ricotta (+26.6%), Grated or powered cheeses (+18.7%), Provolone (+12.2%), Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano (+5.4%), Gorgonzola (+4.9%) while decreased for Asiago, Montasio, Ragusano, Caciocavallo (-5.5%), Pecorino and Fiore Sardo (-19.9%).

Italy imports in February 2016 compared to February 2015 increased in volumes for

  • Cheese (+10.3%)

decreased for

  • Milk in packings of > 2 L (-3.5%)
  • Milk and cream (-4.6%)
