New Zealand dairy export: which countries have replaced China?

New Zealand exports in July 2015 compared to July 2014 increased in volumes for Caseinates (+46.0%), Whey Powder (+36.3%), Cheese (+33.5%), WMP (+22.9%), Casein (+14.1%), Butter (+10.9%) while decreased for SMP (-17.7%).

The main Importers of WMP in the first 7 months of 2015 (year over year) were:

  • China import, accounting for 20% of market share, decreased by 60.9%
  • Algeria import, accounting for 11% of market share, increased by 115.5%
  • United Arab Emirates import, accounting for 10% of market share, increased by 16.5%

The main Importers of Butter in the first 7 months of 2015 (y-o-y) were:

  • China import, accounting for 11% of market share, decreased by 34.6%
  • Egypt import, accounting for 10% of market share, increased by 17.3%
  • United Arab Emirates import, accounting for 7% of market share, increased by 114.3%

The main Importers of Cheese in the first 7 months of 2015 (y-o-y) were:

  • Japan import, accounting for 16% of market share, increased by 3.4%
  • Australia import, accounting for 16% of market share, increased by 9%
  • China import, accounting for 11% of market share, increased by 32.9%

The main Importers of SMP in the first 7 months of 2015 (y-o-y) were:

  • China import, accounting for 27% of market share, decreased by 3.7%
  • Singapore import, accounting for 10% of market share, increased by 66.2%
  • Philippines import, accounting for 9% of market share, increased by 13.1%
