Russia import data paints a bleak picture for EU

Russia imports in June 2015 compared to June 2014 increased in volumes for SMP (+50.9%), Lactose Pharmaceutical (+45.8%) while decreased for Milk in packings of <= 2 L (-20.6%), Butter (-22.6%), Cheese (-45.8%), Milk in packings of > 2 L (-52.0%), WMP (-82.2%).

The main exporters of Cheese in the first 6 months of 2015 (year over year) were:

  • Belarus export, accounting for 78% of market share, increased by 32.2%
  • Argentina export, accounting for 6% of market share, decreased by 30.8%

The main exporters of Butter in the first 6 months of 2015 (y-o-y) were:

  • Belarus export, accounting for 79% of market share, increased by 37.8%
  • Uruguay export, accounting for 10% of market share, decreased by 32.1%
