China: cheese import increases at record level

China imports in November 2015 compared to November 2014
increased in volumes for Bulk and pack. milk (+87.0%), Infant milk formula (+75.1%), Butter (+53.4%), Cheese (+53.1%), Whey Powder (+28.8%), WMP (+10.2%) while decreased for SMP (-12.3%).

The main Exporters of Cheese in the first 11 months of 2015 (year over year) were:

  • New Zealand export, accounting for 49% of market share, increased by 27.1%
  • Australia export, accounting for 20% of market share, decreased by 16.8%
  • United States export, accounting for 15% of market share, decreased by 2.5%

The main Exporters of Butter in the first 11 months of 2015 (year over year) were:

  • New Zealand export, accounting for 85% of market share, decreased by 24.2%
  • France export, accounting for 5% of market share, increased by 91.7%
  • Australia export, accounting for 4% of market share, increased by 84.6%
