U.S. dairy exports slowed down by the bearish market

U.S. exports in July 2015 compared to July 2014 increased in volumes for Lactose Pharmaceutical (+51.5%), Infant milk formula (+9.1%) while decreased for Whey Powder (-15.8%), Cheese (-20.9%), SMP (-22.0%), Butter (-54.8%), WMP (-63.1%).

The main purchasing countries of Cheese in the first 7 months of 2015 (year over year) were:

  • Mexico import, accounting for 28% of market share, increased by 15.3%
  • Korea, South import, accounting for 20% of market share, decreased by 6.6%
  • Japan import, accounting for 11% of market share, decreased by 36.6%

U.S. imports in July 2015 compared to July 2014 increased in volumes for WMP (+129.1%), Caseinates (+59.1%), Butter (+54.9%), Cheese (+22.6%) while decreased for Casein (-13.9%), Whey Powder (-25.5%), Condensed Milk (-66.1%).

The main supplying countries of Cheese in the first 7 months of 2015 (y-o-y) were:

  • Italy export, accounting for 17% of market share, increased by 17.8%
  • France export, accounting for 11% of market share, decreased by 4%
  • The Netherlands export, accounting for 8% of market share, increased by 23.8%
