China’s dairy import jump +27% (Jan-Aug 2016)

China imports in August 2016 compared to August 2015 increased in volumes for:

  • Cheese (+63.9%)
  • Infant milk formula (+34.8%)
  • Butter (+34.6%)
  • Whey Powder (+31.9%)
  • Milk and cream (+30.5%)
  • WMP (+20.6%)

decreased for:

  • SMP (-18.9%)

The main Exporters of Milk and cream in the first 8 months of 2016 (year over year) were:

  • Germany export, accounting for 34% of market share, increased by 30.6%
  • France export, accounting for 21% of market share, increased by 322.6%
  • New Zealand export, accounting for 18% of market share, increased by 88.5%
  • Australia export, accounting for 11% of market share, increased by 26.4%
  • Poland export, accounting for 3% of market share, increased by 121%

The main Exporters of Cheese in the first 8 months of 2016 (year over year) were:

  • New Zealand export, accounting for 51% of market share, increased by 38.3%
  • Australia export, accounting for 22% of market share, increased by 44.6%
  • United States export, accounting for 9% of market share, decreased by 25%
  • France export, accounting for 4% of market share, increased by 114.7%
  • Italy export, accounting for 3% of market share, increased by 43.2%

The main Exporters of Butter in he first 8 months of 2016 (year over year) were:

  • New Zealand export, accounting for 87% of market share, increased by 37.4%
  • France export, accounting for 5% of market share, increased by 45.6%
  • Belgium export, accounting for 3% of market share, increased by 47.3%
  • Australia export, accounting for 3% of market share, decreased by 16.4%
  • The Netherlands export, accounting for 1% of market share, increased by 79.1%

China imports in August 2016 compared to August 2015 increased in volumes for:
