Recovery in Chinese dairy import (Jan-Mar +37%)

China imports in March 2016 compared to March 2015 increased in volumes for:

  • Bulk and pack. milk (+83.4%)
  • SMP (+38.3%)
  • Whey Powder (+37.5%)
  • WMP (+31.0%)
  • Infant milk formula (+29.3%)
  • Butter (+18.9%)
  • Cheese (+7.3%)

The main Exporters of Cheese in the first 3 months of 2016 (year over year) were:

  • New Zealand export, accounting for 58% of market share, increased by 40.9%
  • Australia export, accounting for 18% of market share, increased by 67.6%
  • United States export, accounting for 8% of market share, decreased by 8.1%
  • Denmark export, accounting for 4% of market share, increased by 89.5%
  • France export, accounting for 4% of market share, increased by 133.6%
  • Italy export, accounting for 3% of market share, increased by 36%
