The monthly report of March 2014 released by the United States Department of Agriculture (World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates Report – WASDE) presents the estimates for the new season 2014-15.
Global corn supplies are projected at 979 Mio t, unchanged from the 2013-14 season, ending August 31th. Expected decreases for Ukraine, Brazil, India and South Africa are mostly offset by increases for China, Argentina, Russia and Mexico.
Global soybean production for 2014-15 is projected at 300 Mio t, +6% from the 2013-14 season, ending September 30th. In the United States and in Brazil crops are projected at a record level. Chinese imports are projected at 72 Mio t, +4% from 2013-14 and +20% from 2013-14.
