China: import grows for Cheese, UHT milk and Infant Formula

China imports in July 2015 compared to July 2014 increased in volumes for Whey Powder (+26.3%), Bulk and pack. milk (+25.4%), Cheese (+24.7%), Infant milk formula (+21.0%) while decreased for Butter (-18.0%), SMP (-24.5%), WMP (-39.8%).

The main Exporters of Infant milk formula in the first 7 months of 2015 (year on year) were:

  • The Netherlands export – accounting for 33% of market share – increased by 71.1%
  • Ireland export – accounting for 16% of market share – increased by 54.9%

The main Exporters of Bulk and pack. milk in the first 7 months of 2015 (year on year) were:

  • Germany export – accounting for 45% of market share – increased by 23.8%
  • Australia export – accounting for 16% of market share – increased by 64.9%

Oceania is China’s main supplier of SMP and WMP.
In Oceania WMP latest price changes are: -41.4% (Jan-Aug ’15 vs Jan-Aug ’14); -11.2% (Aug ’15 vs Jul ’15); SMP latest price changes are: -46.9% (Jan-Aug ’15 vs Jan-Aug ’14); -16.0% (Aug ’15 vs Jul ’15).
