Increased milk production expected in New Zealand [News Oceania n°9/2017]

Period: June 26 – July 7, 2017

In New Zealand increased cow numbers and productivity are expected for the new dairy season, which, if they both occur, should increase seasonal milk production.

Butter prices in Oceania remain below European prices. Many buyers are being cautious and wary of higher prices, buying only as needed, hoping for future price softening.

Some buyers of Oceania WMP are believed to have a more pressing need for securing stocks in the immediate term than had recently been expected. That is a factor driving upper price range strength.
