VOLUMES:

EU-28 exports in JANUARY 2017 compared to January 2016 increased in volumes for

  • Cream (+21.8%)
  • Cheese (+13.0%)
  • Infant milk formula (+11.1%)
  • WMP (+6.1%)

decreased for

  • Whey Powder (-0.5%)
  • SMP (-7.8%)
  • Butter (-37.1%)
  • Bulk and pack. milk (-1.3%)

UNIT PRICES:

The unit prices of EU-28 exports in JANUARY 2017 compared to January 2016 increased for:

  • Butter (+43.0%)
  • WMP (+24.4%)
  • SMP (+9.8%)
  • Whey Powder (+4.4%)
  • Cream (+1.5%)

decreased for:

  • Cheese (-1.0%)
  • Infant milk formula (-7.2%)
  • Bulk and pack. milk (-4.0%)

The main Importers of Cheese in January 2017 (year over year) were:

  • United States import, accounting for 16% of market share, increased by 1.3%
  • Japan import, accounting for 12% of market share, increased by 47.2%
  • Korea, South import, accounting for 7% of market share, increased by 52.7%
  • Switzerland import, accounting for 6% of market share, increased by 5.3%
  • Saudi Arabia import, accounting for 6% of market share, increased by 4.4%

The main Importers of Cream in January 2017 (year over year) were:

  • China import, accounting for 28% of market share, increased by 0.7%
  • Saudi Arabia import, accounting for 12% of market share, increased by 89.9%
  • Korea, South import, accounting for 10% of market share, increased by 184.5%
  • Angola import, accounting for 7% of market share, increased by 172.5%
  • Taiwan import, accounting for 5% of market share, decreased by 2.3%
