Chinese dairy imports in August above a year ago, except for WMP

China imports in August 2015 compared to August 2014 increased in volumes for Infant milk formula (+42.7%), Bulk and pack. milk (+37.6%), Cheese (+25.0%), Butter (+22.7%), SMP (+11.2%), Whey Powder (+7.1%) while decreased for WMP (-41.1%).

The main Exporters of Cheese in the first 8 months of 2015 (year over year) were:

  • New Zealand export, accounting for 48% of market share, increased by 24.7%
  • Australia export, accounting for 20% of market share, decreased by 23.8%
  • United States export, accounting for 16% of market share, decreased by 6.9%

The main Exporters of Butter in the first 8 months of 2015 (y-o-y) were:

  • New Zealand export, accounting for 85% of market share, decreased by 36.9%
  • France export, accounting for 4% of market share, increased by 85.5%
  • Australia export, accounting for 4% of market share, increased by 95.9%
